Have you run your workshop before? Skip the incubator and apply to run an independent branch.

The Arbor Pedagogy Incubator (May 26-29) is where branch leaders with promising ideas but limited teaching experience can develop their curriculum with feedback and support.

During the incubator, you'll learn everything from "how to model what's happening in your students' minds" to "what supplies are in your bootcamp go-box?" and get to playtest your classes on each other.

Essentially, we are running "running a bootcamp" bootcamp. We provide a template based on what we've figured out over the past year, give you a container to modify that template with substantial feedback, and throw resources at you that we wish we would have had when we were running our first bootcamp.

Incubator Benefits

  • Physical resources and materials
  • Structured pedagogy training and curriculum development
  • Opportunity to playtest your workshop to a representative group of students, plus line-edits from us
  • A forcing function to actually prepare your workshop more than 30m before your workshop
  • An Arbor Apprentice assigned to support your branch
  • Templates for many of the things you might forget about by default — like orientation and feedback forms, t-shirts, good Airtable and Discord workflows, etc.
  • Connections with potential sponsors and collaborators
